Create a diagram of the circuit you want to make.

Make the circuit that is shown in the diagram.

Compare the diagram to the circuit. Make sure:
- every line on the diagram corresponds to a connection in the real circuit;
- every symbol in the diagram corresponds to the real part in the circuit; and
- nothing is in the circuit that isn’t in the diagram.

If the circuit still doesn’t work, there are three possibilities:
- The diagram was incorrect;
- One of the connections in the circuit is bad (most likely); or
- One of the components is bad.
