12. The Auto Show

Overview

Students present their redesigned EnerJeeps. They describe the process of building them, the problems that emerged and how they solved them, and how they redesigned their EnerJeep. They operate the EnerJeep.

Materials

  • Cars completed in Lesson 11.

Procedure

  1. Completing cars: Students complete their cars and prepare their presentations.

  2. Presenting EnerJeeps: This is the culminating lesson, where students will present their final products to an audience. The Auto Show could take one or more of several forms:

    • Formal Presentation: each student shows his or her car to an audience and explains what he or she did to make it.
    • Museum: Students create a display on tables, where visitors can view the cars and try them out for themselves
    • Invention Convention: Like a Science Fair, visitors come to view the cars, test them out and talk with the students who made them.

The completed Instruction Manual and Troubleshooting Guide should be included in each presentation.
